nday,  December 3

Thank You!
Thanks to all of you who took the time to dress a teddy bear!  They all turned out great.  I’m sure the children who will get them this Christmas will enjoy them.  If you would like to see what they look like all dressed up, go to Trinity’s web site (www.trinitynorthfield.org) to see a picture.  Also thanks to all who donated medicine bottles for our Fall drive.  They have now been sent off.

Jews For Jesus
Jews for Jesus will be at Trinity to give a presentation on Christ in the Feast of Tabernacles this Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m.  This festival is mentioned in Exodus 34 and Leviticus 23.  As with all of the Old Testament, even this feast points to Jesus and what He has done to save us from our sins (John 5:39).  Come Sunday evening to find out more.

For Everything There Is A Season
I have loved serving as a DCE at Trinity. You have been a bigger part of me than just about anything else in life as I met my husband here, you welcomed my daughter, and I believe you have a lot of potential to share the Gospel to your community. However, I feel I have done all I can at Trinity and don’t feel I’m the one to move you forward in ministry.  This is not a result of budget, or budget discussions, but is something I have been praying about for several months. It’s not an easy thing for me to do, as I love and have loved, serving as DCE at Trinity.  Prayers are appreciated as I figure out how to transition out of DCE life and into farm wife at the 1st of the year.  I will be praying for Trinity as you move forward and figure out your direction.  David, Grace, and I will not be leaving Trinity as this is our home so I look forward to working with you in ministry after a break.  DCE Jackie

Midweek Meal:  Soups for this week, December 13, are Clam Chowder and Beef Vegetable

Christmas Eve Service
Pastor Boehme is asking for assistance with the Christmas Eve candlelight service.  He is in need of candle lighters, lighting control, usher, and other preparation duties.  If you would like to participate in the celebration of the coming of our Savior, please contact Pastor Boehme or the church office.  Thank you!

Can you Help Out?
We are looking for volunteer's to collect garbage and recyclables from around the church and offices for pickup on Monday's - garbage every Monday and recyclables every other Monday for the months of January, February, and first two weeks in March.  Please contact Bryce and Mollie Skaar to help out.  Thank you.

Counters Needed
The Board of Stewardship is asking for volunteers to assist with counting the offerings in 2018.  Counters are scheduled for 2 separate months of the year and usually do the counting on Sunday after the worship service.  Counting typically takes about an hour to do.  If you are interested in serving in this way please contact a member of the board of stewardship - Todd Criswell, Ron Frauenshuh, and Barb Anderson.

Quilts for Sharing
The quilts on display on the pews in the sanctuary will be given to Christmas Sharing.  It's a joy to give these quilts as they are truly appreciated. Needy families can choose one quilt when they come to Christmas Sharing to do their shopping.  Thanks to all who have so generously donated the wonderful fabric. Also many thanks to the volunteers who donate their time for the sewing and tying to complete these quilts. You are a blessing to others.  LWML Mission Service

Preschool News
The Little Lambs Preschool committee would like to update everyone on the preschool.  We are sad to report that Teacher Tawna has resigned from her teacher position here at Little Lambs.  She will be teaching at Little Lambs until December 20, which is the last attendance day in December 2017 because of Northfield Schools' Winter break.  The committee is working diligently to find a different teacher to fill the position.  We will keep the parents of the preschoolers and the congregation informed every step of the way.  Please keep us in your prayers.

Children’s Christmas Program                                                                                                                                         The Sunday School Children’s Christmas program will be held on December 17 at 10:45 am.  Come and hear the children tell the story of Jesus’ birth then join us for a potluck lunch afterward.

Christmas Cards Available
Christmas cards are now for sale in the fellowship hall.  Once again the boxes cost $5.00.  The money from the Christmas cards is used for purchasing DVD’s and books for the church library.  It is also used to purchase the assorted cards that are for sale.

Scrip Cards are Perfect Christmas Gifts
Trinity has many gift cards to choose from if you are looking for an easy last minute gift.  They make great stocking stuffers for anyone also.  You can find cards for many restaurants, gas stations, or department stores.  Stop by the table in the fellowship hall after worship on Sundays or you can get your cards in the office during the week.  If there is a card that we don’t carry regularly you can order it.  The cards take about 2-3 weeks to come in so you must order soon to get them in time for Christmas gift giving.  And the best part is - Trinity gets a percentage back from each card sold!
